Peepshow: In Between

Recently I went to an exhibition of the artists and illustrators of Peepshow Collective It is a showcase of their personal work and is held at a small gallery near Barbican. An interview with the artists about the show can be found in this Its Nice That Article.

The three images shows above show amazing collages by Miles Donovan, the second of which is my favourite. The depth and colour in this series is immense. The first is entitles Creation No.1, the second Creation No.2 and the third is Arctic. Creative Review also features and article on the show and has some great shots of the work.

One of my favourite things at the show is Adrian Johnson's, Odin Thor and Freyr. These are three prints taken from a series of six inspired by Greek mythology and entitled 'The Pillage People' (photographed below).

Fabriclive Posters

I love these illustrations by Garry Milne for Fabric live (art direction by Village Green). The final posters were used for promotions between August & November 2008 for the Fabric live club nights in London.

Milne's collage style employs illustrations of fragments of the natural world which combine to create a larger more sinister image of an animal. His muted palettes are splashed with vibrant and deep colours which are striking and dramatic.

Dr Stuart's Tea

I love this new packaging from Dr Stuart, a range of herbal tea's with active botanicals which do exactly what they say on the tin (so to speak). The illustrations describe what the purpose of the tea is. Detox is one of my personal favourites, displaying an illustration of a lady with a washing machine stomach. The characters are witty and their rendering gives a sense of homeliness which is ideal to describe tea. Brett Ryder is the illustrator and he has some very cool stuff, well worth a look.

I was tempted to buy the whole range just to give a face lift to my kitchen cupboard, and I don't even drink herbal tea. Strangely I came away with a box of the peppermint. Such is the power of packaging.

The Dr Stuart's website is also very cool with animated versions of the characters popping up all over the place.
